Weka SEO · August 2, 2019 at 2:47 am

Hi Moss,

Have you read about or tested a the auditing software SERPed?

Also, I find the best item is the human element when conducting SEO audits – a human brain that is capable of thinking in the same way that an algorithm can!

Let me know your thoughts?

Jonathan @ Weka

    Moss Clement · August 4, 2019 at 1:00 pm

    Hi Weka,
Yes, humans have an edge over bots, because the human brain is hyper sensitive. However, a manual approach is always time consuming and less productive. I’m productive in the sense that you will spend more time auditing your site manually than with SEO tools that will take on a couple of minutes. It allows you to focus on other vital matters. That is one reason why you need to use these tools.

      Weka SEO · August 4, 2019 at 9:10 pm

      Hi Moss,

We do use a number of tools as well!

      In fact several:

Search Console/GA/SEMrush/Ahrefs/Website Auditor/Screaming Frog/Excel/Link Research Toos to name but a few.

Depending on the size of the website a full audit for on-page, off-page links and competitor analysis can take anywhere between a few hours to several days.

I do have to laugh when I see the ‘Free Website Audit’ on websites.

It would only be a case of placing a website into Auditing software and then presenting the results – that’s not an audit.

You need to have a human create an overall picture of things to present to a client.

That’s my own thoughts and experience?

        Moss Clement · August 5, 2019 at 3:59 pm

        Hi Weka,
I agree with you. No matter how much software we use, it also requires a human touch for finalizing the process. For example, when an audit tool performs its task, the webmaster must evaluate it before drawing a conclusion and present the result. I use some free SEO tools, but NOT for website analysis. I so much appreciate your insightful contribution, Weka. Thank you.

Gaurav Kumar · July 5, 2019 at 11:15 am

I have been using screaming frog and google webmaster tools for auditing my clients’ websites and i’m eager to try out new tools and see which are better. Its nice that you took your time to try out all of these! Great list!

    Moss Clement · August 7, 2018 at 11:15 am

That’s right, Alaine. Screaming Frog is great, as well as the other tools on list. To be able to identify those that works well, you have to give them a try to see exactly how each tool identify with your subject matter. Many bloggers and content marketers do not give much attention to SEO. Or, they fail to utilize the best tools in the marketplace, which results in poor SEO strategy and poor search engine ranking. However,it is a lot easier with the right tools in place.

Thanks a lot for stopping by and contributing to the conversation.

You’ve got an interesting list, Moss.

I use Yoast SEO and I highly recommend it.

Nothing can be more interesting about blogging like knowing exactly what you can put in place to get your blog ranking on search engine.

So far, I have gotten used to it so much so that sometimes I don’t even open it before composing my blog post and when I do, I discover that I did amazingly well in my optimization.

Especially for a newbie, not having an SEO tool is suicidal.

Thank you so much for sharing.
