How can I create high-quality blog posts?

In this article, you’re going to discover simple steps that’ll help you write high-quality contents consistently.

Here are six powerful steps to your content marketing success.

#• Set a Content Creation Plan

When you set a content creation strategy–a standard you will always follow to help you write better contents, you have effectively put yourself up for your content corresponding success. But first, you have to study the market-place to find out what is trending in your industry. Study your competitors to identify what they’re doing, the types of content that keeps their audience engaged.

Furthermore, study your audience to figure out their demographics, age, and types of content that engage them. When you have this in place, you are good to go. Your content plan should include, but not limited to the following:

  • The purpose of your writing.
  • What topics will you be writing?
  • The types of blog posts your audience will love to read.
  • How frequently will you be writing and publishing content–once a week, etc.?

The best way to handle blog post writing is to establish a transparent strategy with an outline in place. As a result, it’s critical not to try to be perfect. With your framework available, brainstorm ideas and keep writing.

It’s essential to have an outline because it guarantees your high-quality blog post. It also ensures that the article you’re writing will have your desired level of in-depth research, which will automatically make you a better writer.

Forget about editing your article because what you’re doing at this point is called free-writing, so, continue writing and when you finish your work, take time after that to edit your article accordingly. This type of content strategy will help you create remarkable blog posts.

#• Read a Lot

Why is reading essential for your writing success?

Reading is critical because it inspires you with abundant writing ideas, and guides you along the way.

“If you want to be a writer, there are two things you must do above all others: read a lot and write a lot. There is no way around these two things that I’m aware of, no shortcut.” – Stephen King

Stephen King has never been more correct, and there is a lot you can read to get the inspiration.

  • Read blog posts of other bloggers in your niche.
  • Examine their way of writing, the topics they write most about and their style of writing.
  • Are you on their newsletter mailing list? If not, get on board right away.
  • Get their RSS feeds. In this way, you won’t miss a thing; they will feed you continuously with high-quality expert content that will help you create terrific blog posts.

I’m a subscriber to some of the best bloggers’ newsletters where I receive consistent posts in my inbox. It helps me keep up with their content and trends in my niche, so I don’t miss a thing.

#• Write More Often

As Stephen King points out, to become a better writer and create valuable blog posts, you must write a lot. Yes! Stephen’s quote is so accurate because when I first started, most times felt like I wasn’t in the game because I didn’t know what to write about, and if when I write, I write less without enthusiasm because I was feeling frustrated.

But when I set my writing goal and followed through, I began writing regularly on topics I find interesting. Then I realized that I was making significant progress. The point is simple; practice makes perfect, so, so set a routine for your writing and endeavor to stick to it.

Write more often even if nobody reads it, you might feel frustrated, though, but don’t let it weigh you down. Just keep writing and please, do not try to compare yourself with other bloggers. The best you can do is to study their way of writing and implement what you’re learning to your text.

#• Map out ideas for your blog post

What does this mean? It merely says that as a non-writer, you should put together plans for your content in an organized manner to create a stress-free writing experience. First, select a keyword, then use the keyword to craft catchy headlines for your blog posts.

This strategy involves the use of an outline, which will make your writing a lot easier. There’re tools you can use in this regard to help you generate and organize your ideas.

Evernote

Evernote has impressive features that will help you put together your concepts in an organized manner. It also allows you to collaborate with other writers in your field. In fact, this tool has been labeled, “the project management tool” because of its wealth of fascinating features.

It offers you the privilege to create projects and assign tasks, making it easier for you to collaborate with others.

This tool will help you generate hundreds of blog topic ideas for your posts.

This headline analyzer by CoSchedule is remarkable because it helps you create headlines your audience can’t ignore by analyzing your preferred headline and present you a score.

The score will determine the strength of your headline, which will help you tweak it more if the score is not good enough to get a higher score.

#• Create high-quality contents

“You cannot possibly give somebody something you don’t have. Before you give somebody something, you must own it, you have to acquire it before you can give it out to someone.” – Unknown

The above quote means that you have to learn and acquire the knowledge of how to write better blog content before you can offer value to your readers. And as discussed earlier, creating high-quality blog material is the key to your content marketing success. The more quality content you produce, the more you become visible to others.

Having said that, start with a compelling headline. Yes! You must spend time crafting a headline that is catchy enough to attract readers to your blog. Please, read this post to learn how to write compelling headlines that people will love to click.

So, now that you have set your content creation plan and followed through, read a lot and got the inspiration, practice your writing, and mapped out your ideas for an incredible blog post, it is time to create your content.

*Important* Please, remember to examine your competitors to pinpoint what they’re doing. You can use a tool like Ahrefs to evaluate your competition and study your niche market. This tool will help you figure out how to beat your contenders and stay ahead of them.

What is the length of quality content?

Is it an 800, 1000, or 2000-word article? I’ve been asked these questions more frequently. Here is what researchers found out. According to statistics put together by Buzzsumo of 100 million pieces, it shows that the share count of more extended contents is higher than a shorter blog post.

With the variations in statistics, my best advice is, try to create the best quality content possible.

“Perfection is attained, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing more to take away.” – Antoine de Saint Exupéry, French writer

You can develop 800, 1000, or 2000-word and above. The idea is for you to create high-quality, well-researched articles that will connect with your target audience and potential customers. Search engines love these types of blog posts.

Reading a lot and writing more often both vibe with me Moss. I write like the dickens but also read quite a bit. Now that I am traveling again in a day – heading to Thailand – I will likely read more. Good deal because reading skilled bloggers helps words flow freely from your mind, to fingers to the laptop. Like magic almost.

Hi Moss,

Great tips and I agree, writing every day has helped me become a better writer. When I first started my blog, it would take me forever to write a 1,000-word article.

Today, I can write one of my blog posts in about 20 minutes, as long as that’s all I am focusing on at the time.

I make it a point to write every day because it helps me stay in the flow.

I’ve been working on improving my headlines and I always use the Coschedule Headline Analyzer to help me out.

Thanks for sharing these tips with us.

Have a great day 🙂

    Hi Susan,
You’re so welcome, and thank you too for being here. I agree with you. It is logical to say that practice makes perfect. Which means, the more you write, the more you improve your writing skill.

Headlines are the door to your content, so-to-speak, because they give users a glimpse of what they’re getting into. CoSchedule Headline Analyzer is remarkably amazing, I am using it as well to craft compelling headlines. It goes to confirm what Lisa Sicard said one of her articles on the Curatti website, she said, “she can’t imagine herself doing it alone.”

That is why we need tools and the help of other bloggers to help get things done.

Thanks a lot Susan, I’m so glad to have you here.
