1: Send Out Special Offers

I love this step because it presents you a platform to acquire more loyal audience and potential customers, that’s why it is #1 on the list. Special offers, and or special deals are vital components in digital marketing. This technique inspires and motivates your target buyer to take action–knowing that they’re acquiring items for less the usual market price.

However, it works best when you infuse the power of scarcity into your offer. How? By making your deal available only for a limited time. This move will incite your audience to act right away to take advantage of your offers before the deadline. There are many special deals you can offer your followers, including:

  • Contests
  • Discounts
  • Coupon codes
  • Sweepstakes

The concept is to help you attract and create a community of loyal followers who are willing to buy from you.

2: Post Valuable Content

Valuable content is the hallmark of social media marketing. All other marketing strategy comes second to relevant, informative content. If you consistently offer high-quality exclusive content, it is logical to say that you will effectively build trust with your followers, which will move them to continue coming back looking for more of your content.

Furthermore, it opens the channel of communication with your target market because to them your brand is credible.

Pro tips:

  • Post incredible content you’ve not shared on your site to your followers on social media. If you cannot create such content to share with your audience, content curation is your best option.

3: Evaluate Each Social Media Site

The best way to better relate to your followers is to evaluate each social platform to identify the ones that work best for your marketing campaign. What you will be looking for basically are the social sites where your followers are engaging with your content the most. Only then will you be able to interact with, and possibly convert them to quality leads and paying customers.

Pro tips:

  • All the major social media platforms have an analytics dashboard that you can access and see first-hand how your content is performing. The analytics will show you how your followers are interacting with your content, the best performing content, and so much more.
  • Use the data from your analytics to create engaging content and concentrate only on the social sites that are working for your campaign. You don’t have to be everywhere, that’s why it is vital to measure your marketing campaigns so you can have a focus.

Hi Moss, Wow, I was amazed at the 80% of time spent on Mobile devices now online. A great point to use mobile first landing pages – I’d love to see examples of that one.
I also like your point about being where your audience IS – and being ready to change when they move to somewhere else. Many are not on Facebook as long as they used to be and are on Instagram. So a switch to another platform is key for many today too. Have a nice weekend Moss!

Hi Moss!

These are great tips, thanks for sharing them. Developing a solid social strategy is so much more than just aimlessly posting whatever you want, which is what so many people are doing.
It’s amazing how many people don’t take the time to delve into their analytics, and take a look at what’s working well and what isn’t. At the same time, they don’t tailor the content for each platform they’re posting on.

I can personally attest to the power of user generated content as we used this heavily for my baby product brand – contests especially. Not only did it lead to more followers and higher engagement even after the contests were over, but we made many direct sales from them as well.

That being said I haven’t been great at using social as a platform for direct sales, and need to get better at that this year. While it’s been good for my companies in terms of brand awareness, it’s nice to be able to put a direct ROI to something like this.

Thanks Moss!
